Week 5/8 In Review (Nuveen CTF shares purchase, more)

There was one purchase of Nuveen Long Short Commodity fund shares (post link here). There were no sales for the week. The next purchase is scheduled for the next 3-5 weeks.

There were no dividends received for the week. The fund will be receiving its next dividend from Realty Income.

More Shares Purchased of Nuveen Long/Short CTF

The fund has purchased more shares of Nuveen's Long/Short Commodity Fund (symbol CTF) for its portfolio. Reasons for the purchase are below.

- Higher valuation expected

- Monthly dividend still at high value of $0.119 per share

- Increase speed of dividend compounding rate

The next purchase will happen in the next 3-5 weeks. Candidates include Powershares Build America Bond fund and others.

Week 5/1 In Review (Dividends from PMT, T, GE, BAB, CTF, more)

There were no purchases or sales during the week. The next purchase will be in the next 1-2 weeks. Candidates include Nuveen CTF, and others.

Dividends were received and reinvested from GE, Nuveen CTF, AT&T, and Powershares Build America Bond Fund. It was the best week of dividends ever for the fund in terms of dollars received. The week's dividends amounted to 10% of a normal purchase.

Dividends from shares purchased through reinvested dividends have made up 2% of dividends received for the year.

Dividend Received Courtesy of Realty Income

There was a dividend received from Realty Income. It was reinvested for free. The dividend was 4% higher because of previous dividends being reinvested. Dividends from shares bought through reinvestment now represent 3.5% of the dividends received for Realty Income this year and 2.6% for the entire fund.

Week 4/10 In Review (GE, Dividends, more)

There were no new purchases this week. There were no sales this week. The next scheduled purchase will be in the next 3-5 weeks.

There were no dividends during the week. The next scheduled dividend will be from Realty Income around the 15th.

GE was in the news with the announcement of their sale of their real estate holdings to Blackrock, Wells Fargo, and others (link to post here). GE is releasing its earnings on Friday.

Dividend Day Courtesy of Nuveen Commodity Long/Short Fund

Today, the fund received a dividend from Nuveen Commodity Long/Short Fund. The dividend was reinvested for free. Four percent of the dividend is from shares purchased through dividend reinvestment.

Dividends continue to be a growing part of the fund. Dividend reinvestment capital now represents 2.6% of the total capital in the fund. The next expected dividend is from Realty Income, which is to be paid around the 15th of the month.

Dividend Day Courtesy of Powershares Build America Bond Fund

The fund has received a dividend payment from Powershares Build America Bond Fund. The funds were automatically reinvested for free. Three percent of the shares owned by the fund are from dividend reinvestment. Those shares produced four percent of this month's dividend. 

Dividends continue to be a growing part of the fund. Dividend reinvestment is growing faster in terms of dollars and percentage of capital invested in the fund. This is one important way that wealth will be created. The next expected dividend will be from Nuveen Commodity Long/Short fund at the beginning of next month.

New Purchase of Shares of Pennymac (PMT)

Today, the fund purchased shares of Pennymac Mortgage REIT (PMT). The expectation is that the security will rise in value and that the dividend amounts payable to KDK Fund will continue to increase. The dividend is paid around the 25th of the first month of the quarter. The fund paid $21.33 per share. Some reasons for the purchase are below:

- 10+% annual dividend
- Diversity in KDK Fund's Real Estate Holdings (Realty Income, Pennymac Mortgage)
- Well run and managed business
- Continued strength in Real Estate Market

Dividend Received From Realty Income With Raise

A dividend was received from Realty Income. The majority was reinvested for free. 3.9% of the dividend was due to previously reinvested dividends. For 2015, 2.3% of all dividends received have been from previously reinvested dividends.

Realty Income also announced an increase in the monthly dividend from $0.189 per share to $0.1895 per share.

Dividends  continue to be a growing part of the wealth building plan of the fund. With dividend increases, and dividend reinvestment, the fund is starting to see extra growth.
